In each field there are experts including the field you have chosen as a profession.

As a working artist I always find it a bit difficult to place myself in a historical context. And yes artists are always asked the question where do you feel your work falls within history.

I work in series that flow from one medium to another.
Each series involves 12-18 months of intensity before the work alters.
The core of my interest never alters yet the visual end produce of each series is very distinct.

This is like exploring the same story in several different languages. And the visual type set of each language is very different.

As the artists it is easier to be objective and step back to review the historical progression of my work.

It is always a bit more difficult to indulge the same question while in the midst of a series. For this is where the questioning and fertile ground is being developed.
