Space Displacement
The concept of a crowded space is not a constant. The volume of objects displacing space need not change in order for one’s perception of a space to change. The rearranging of objects is enough to change the area from one of comfort to uncomfortable and crowded.
Keeping the same physical objects in a space but moving them around will alter one’s perception of crowdability. The same volume is being displaced, yet when things are scattered the field is no longer soothing, it creates a vibration that does not allow for uninterrupted flow. This disruption changes ones perception from one of ease to unease, no extra space is being displaced but the perception has changed.
