THREE MILLION HOURS

Concept:

In this project I chose 3 professional dancers to explore the unseen hours needed to create one moment of perfection in movement, rhythm and form.

THREE MILLION HOURS

Development:

During dozens of photographs and hours of conversation a train of commonality developed. They had little interest in having their identities exposed. The interest was discussing the dedication toward the tools of their artistic profession: their bodies and feet.
Their bodies and feet were never discussed in a fashion context, but only as a tool to create beauty.

Documentation:

Each dancer was asked to wear the universal uniform of a ballet dancer…Black leotard and pink tights…and to wear their personal very favorite after work footwear.
The project narrowed down to only one image.
The lower part of their bodies create a vase sharing a bouquet of flowering feet.
