AMOUNT AND ABSORPTION

Enough is enough, but when does enough turn into too much?  What is amount?  What is the amount of anything?  Everything always has its decided amount, but then there is always more.  Sometimes amount is infinite, and sometimes it is not.  Amount like time and space, it has no limits.  Amount is more subjective to limitation than either time or space.  Unlimited until we set limits, as with all things we only partake in a limited portion.

For the man who takes one lump of sugar in his coffee, two lumps is too much, yet for the man who takes four lumps of sugar in his coffee, two are not enough.

Amount is like size, everyone has their own size and amount that they are comfortable with.  Size and amount are contained within the space, and their limits are constant, always there, never changing.  We perceive space as changing because we are always changing out limited boundaries within which we function.

Space has a stationary aspect to it, stationary everywhere.  Yet the illusion or representation of space is very transitory, leading our understanding.  Sectional usage of a totalness, is the manner in which we have become accustomed.

Amount in and of itself is what makes for the truth in color.  It is the amount of light absorption that gives us colors.  Objects absorb light waves in much the same manner an animal absorbs shock, light and shock are taken in and accounted for.  Animals absorb shock, my chair absorbs water, floors absorb dirt, sock absorb odor, my stomach absorbs food, the air absorbs pollution, shirts absorb perspiration, animals absorb air, in fact many things absorb many things. But my coffee table is made of such a material that it absorbs nothing, not solid, liquid or gas.  Ah, the wonder of manmade materials.  Yet there is one thing that even this repellent object cannot resist.  My table has a nice warm brown color; therefore it is not resistant to the absorption of light.  Yes, it is very common among highly resistant materials to be unable to resist the penetration of light.

Gas has the properties to indulge in space totally; there is both positive and negative space.  A gas is absorbed in negative space (that we are now calling various solid forms) as well as in positive space.  There now appears a new group, the group of metals, and sealed wood like my coffee table.  Are these to be considered in the group of negative space?  Gasses have the properties to penetrate total space, yet it cannot penetrate a number of these sealed objects.  Surely we have devised a very strong boundary system.  For offense of defense purposes, we have created secure and solid boundaries.
